Hey everyone!!
I hope you're all doing well. I know that these times are very hard for all of us and that the coronavirus pandemic is affecting just about each and every one of us in some pretty major ways. As for me, I'm back at school from Spring Break but all of my classes are online for the rest of the semester. There will also be no more events at my school for the rest of the semester, and we may not even get a graduation ceremony this year. I'm a little bummed about this and it's certainly not the way I imagined my senior year ending. However, of much greater concern to me is everyone out there who is dealing with this virus or is having their life affected by it in even more major ways! My heart goes out to each and every one of you. I'm just doing my best to stay as healthy as possible and do my part to help others remotely!
That's why, for this week's post I thought I would focus on talking about the various things we can do to stay connected with one another even from a distance! Social distancing is something that we all should be taking very seriously, as we want to make sure the spread of this virus is minimized as much as possible. Please make sure you aren't going out unless you absolutely have to, because even if you are young and healthy and showing no symptoms, you could very easily transmit this virus to someone else! I know it's hard to be away from our friends and those we care so much about, but remember that this is only temporary! Also, there is lots we can do to stay in touch and connect with one another even from afar!
As I talked about in last week's post, it is more important than ever now that we reach out to those who we care most about to check in with them and see how they are doing. We must always remind them that we are here for them and that we care about them, and we must strive to stay connected through other means since we are separated by physical distance. Thankfully, there are many great ways we can do this!
First, be sure that you are texting those you care about regularly to check in with them, but never forget the power of a phone call or a video chat, such as Zoom, which I know a lot of us are using for online classes and remote work! Being able to hear each other's voices and see each other's faces will help the distance between us to seem not so bad. We can also play games together online, and in these virtual spaces we might just feel like we're right there with the ones we love so much! Give it a try! :)
Of course, another great way of staying in touch with one another is through online group chats. There are a lot of different platforms that we can use for a group chat experience, and as many of you know, the Best Feeling Ever Movement is already making use of a few of these! Not only can we connect with lots of our closest friends all in one place using these platforms, we can also meet people from all over the world who might just become our new friends for life! Best Feeling Ever has our GroupMe chat going strong, this is a free app that is available on the Apple App Store and the Google Play store. Everyone is welcome to join, just let me know if you would like to be added!
And then of course, we have our brand-new Discord server!! Discord is another great group messaging platform that has a lot more features than GroupMe, and I'm very excited to grow and develop our server, it's off to a great start! It's so easy and totally free to join and anyone can hop on simply by clicking this link: https://discord.gg/HCkmaSV !! You can access it from your browser or you can get the free app on your phone!! There are lots of cool features on here, so please check it out!
Also, check out my new YouTube video to see a TOUR of the server!! :)
Joining this chat will surely give you something to do while you're at home during our social distancing time! Of course, there's lots more we can do to. Remember that we can use this time productively to do lots of great things, and most of all, to focus on our own health and well-being so that we can be our happiest and healthiest selves! Be sure to take some time to do what you love the most - you can read, write, sing, dance, pray, meditate, watch your favorite shows and movies, play your favorite games, and of course, just get some good rest! The possibilities are just about endless. And I'm so confident that once we make it out of this, we will be stronger and healthier than ever! :)
What are you doing your social distancing time? How are you staying connected with others? What tips do you have to share with everyone to make the most of this situation? What are you doing to stay positive in these times? Please reach out and let me know! I can't wait to share your stories on here if you would like. :)
Let me know if any of you need anything!! I'm always here for each and every one of you! Sending so much love and hugs to each and every one of you. Stay strong, always remember you are amazing!! We will make it through this, TOGETHER!!!! Thank you so much for being your amazing, incredible selves. Always keep being kind to yourselves and to others!! LOVE YOU ALL!!!! :) <3
Your friend forever,
Adam Silverstein :) <3
