Staying Healthy In These Times!! :)

Hey loved ones!!


Happy Friday The 13th! I hope that everyone is having a very lucky day today! Hope you're all feeling well. Fortunately I've been home this week on Spring Break so I've finally had (a bit) of a chance to relax and do some fun stuff. :)


I know everyone is concerned about the Coronavirus pandemic and it is certainly affecting all of us. As for me, my classes will be online only for the entire rest of the semester, and all of the events at my school for the rest of the year are most likely cancelled! This is a really crazy way for me to end my college years but of course, the most important thing for me is that everyone stays healthy above all!


That is why, for this week's blog post, I thought I would discuss some of the ways that I have been trying to take good care of myself in these times, physically, mentally, and emotionally, and I hope that this will help all of you too! Now more than ever, it is vital that we are all taking the best care of ourselves as we can, in every way.


Of course, one of the absolute most important things we must do is protect ourselves physically. You don't need me to tell you this, we've all been bombarded by the reminders to wash our hands, avoid crowded spaces, and quarantine ourselves when necessary. Taking it a step further, I here want to emphasize the importance of doing whatever it is that you do that makes you feel the healthiest physically! This means not pushing yourselves beyond your limits, making sure you get adequate nutrition, hydration, and rest, and listening to your body so you can give it what it needs. This is a time in which I believe we must place an extra focus on feeling our very best, since the best way of preventing against getting an infection is by getting our bodies to be the very strongest they can be. Focus on YOU and do what you feel you need to do the most in order to feel your best!


But of course, something that we've been hearing a lot less emphasis being placed on is how we should take care of ourselves mentally as well. This is extremely important to do all the time of course, but especially now! We've all been bombarded by all these news studies and social media posts coming from everywhere, and it's more than a little scary! While of course it's very important to stay updated about everything that's going on out there, we must also make sure that we are not getting too mentally overwhelmed by all of this. Take a step back when you need to, and surround yourself with positive, uplifting messages! Watch your favorite shows, listen to your favorite songs, play some fun games, read great books, just do whatever it is that fills you with hope and inspiration, that is what we need most!


Which brings me to my next point.... we seriously need to be looking out for each other more than ever in these times especially. I know that this situation might be making it all the harder in some cases to reach out to others and offer a helping hand to them, but we must make the effort, and there are lots of ways we can do it. Check up on your friends, family, and neighbors, even just see how they are doing. They will appreciate it a lot! This is the time for unity, connection, compassion, and empathy! Remember to be kind to those around you and meet them with love and understanding in these trying times. You will receive the same in return! :)
