Celebrating Juneteenth 2023!!

Hello everyone!

I hope you're all doing really well! Sorry this post is a bit late, but I wanted to make a post to celebrate Juneteenth, which was back on June 19th, and to wish you all a Happy Freedom Day! June 19th is the day that we celebrate the last of the slaves being freed in America. Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1st, 1863, but the news took over two years to travel across the whole country, and it finally reached Galveston, Texas, on June 19, 1865! On this day, all of the remaining slaves in America officially gained their freedom. Juneteenth is the day for us to celebrate that freedom as well as reflect on the steps we still need to take in order to reach true equality for all in this country and in our world. We've definitely come a long way since then, but we still have a long way to go, so today and every day let's keep working towards those goals!! So as we celebrate how far we have come, let's also look to the future and open up necessary conversations about how we can keep going and keep making more progress, and let's keep educating ourselves and each other on how we can all come together and do that. I know that together, we can create the bright future that we all want! And I know that together, we have the power to keep making some truly amazing change in this world!! I hope that you all had a blessed and meaningful Juneteenth!! I am sending love to all of you!!!! :) <3
