Celebrating Juneteenth!!!!

Hey everyone!

I hope you're all doing great. I wanted to make a post on here to celebrate Juneteenth, which was yesterday on June 19th!! Juneteenth is the day we celebrate the official freedom of the slaves in America. Although Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1st, 1863, the news did not reach Galveston, Texas until June 19th, 1865, over two years later! It was on this date that every slave in America officially gained freedom. Juneteenth is the day we celebrate that freedom and think about how we can work towards a better future for everyone. We have certainly come a long way since then, and we have a LONG way to go!! Today and every day, let's celebrate how far we've come and also talk about how we can work together to keep moving forward, and educating ourselves on how we can do that.
